FAQ
Here is a selection of questions and answers to help inform you further on Wealth Apple's services and approach.
Do I need to open an account with Wealth Apple, or can I use my existing brokerage account?
You will need to open a Wealth Apple account. In order for us to properly monitor your portfolio, we need access to it. Our system is hosted by TD Ameritrade (Wealth Apple's custodian), and even if you have an existing brokerage account with them, you will need a separate Wealth Apple account.
Since my portfolio is hosted by TD Ameritrade, do I pay TD Ameritrade any fees for hosting my portfolio?
You don't pay any hosting fees. However, there are other fees that TD Ameritrade charges that you may see. Good news is that through our relationship with TD Ameritrade, many Exchange Traded Funds which make up a portfolio are traded with zero commissions, saving you money. There are other fees which are not common, such as returned check fees. Ask us and we can send you the full list.
Can you tell me what specific index or exchange traded funds (ETFs) are in my portfolio?
Yes, and you will have direct sign-in access to view your portfolio anytime through our website.
Can't I just invest in index funds directly myself?
Yes, you can. Today, online brokerages offer a plethora of funds: mutual funds, index funds, exchange traded funds. But consider this: the S&P Dow Jones alone has over 1 million indices. And there are approximately 1,600 exchanges traded funds available in the US.
This is why using a provider to help sift through all the options and design a balanced and diversified index-based portfolio is helpful, if not essential. As importantly, we are constantly monitoring your portfolio every minute, allowing you to focus on other things.
